going through it at the same time as your friend
going through it at the same time as your friend is actually insane because now instead of one stable person and one mess, it’s just two people fully unraveling but trying to take turns pretending they’re fine; like you’ll be mid spiral and they’re giving you the best advice you’ve ever heard, super calm, super rational, and you’re like wow okay maybe i will survive this, and then literally two hours later they’re texting you paragraphs and you’re rereading your own advice like wait… this kind of eats; and there’s something weirdly comforting about it because you don’t have to explain why you’re acting off or overthinking dumb stuff, they just get it instantly, no context needed, but also it’s slightly dangerous because now you both enable each other just a little, like “no yeah that was weird of them” turns into a full investigation; but still, it’s nice, because even if everything else feels shaky, at least you’re not the only one going through it, you’re kind of carrying it together, even if neither of you fully knows where you’re going with it yet
