if he wanted to, he would… and if he didn’t, he literally didn’t

i feel like people hate this phrase because it’s blunt but it’s actually so real it’s annoying. like if a guy wants to text you, he will. if he wants to see you, he will. if he wants to make it clear he likes you, you won’t be sitting there trying to piece it together like a puzzle. and i’m not talking about fairytale effort, just basic, consistent effort. because people do what they want to do, especially when it comes to someone they actually like. and yeah, life gets busy, things happen, but nobody is so busy that they can’t send a quick text or make a simple plan if they care. when someone’s interested, it shows in small, obvious ways. you don’t have to reach first every time, you don’t have to remind them you exist, you don’t have to guess how they feel. and if you do feel like that, if it’s always you initiating, always you wondering, always you trying to keep things going, then that’s your answer. it doesn’t mean you’re not good enough, it just means they’re not choosing you like that. and i’d rather accept that early than sit there making excuses for someone who isn’t even doing the bare minimum. it’s really not that deep, it’s just not what you wanted it to be.
