you’re angel # to visit

when a guy isn’t on your niche level it’s actually painful like i’m sorry

like i’ll say something that is so clearly a joke or a reference and he just… blinks. or takes it literally. or hits me with “what do you mean” and now i have to explain it and suddenly i’m the least funny person alive. immediate ick.

and it’s not even about being smarter than someone, it’s just the vibe. the timing. the ability to keep up. like i don’t want to feel like i have to slow my thoughts down or reword everything so it lands. i’m not a translator.

because when it’s right, it’s effortless. you say something kind of random, maybe a little niche, and he just gets it instantly. builds on it. makes it funnier. like okay yes this is a conversation, not a tutoring session.

but when it’s off… it’s so off. everything feels delayed. you’re over-explaining. he’s nodding like he understands but you can tell he doesn’t. and now you’re sitting there like why does this feel like group work with someone who didn’t do the reading.

and then somehow you start feeling annoying?? like you’re “too much” or “talk too fast” when really you’re just not being matched. wrong audience.

also i’m sorry but if i have to explain every reference i make, what are we even doing. like i’m not running a cultural orientation program. keep up or respectfully bow out.

you can’t force that kind of click either. either we’re on the same wavelength or we’re not. and if i have to keep shrinking my personality so you can follow along, i’m just gonna get bored.

idk. i just feel like if i’m funnier in my head than i am out loud with you, something is wrong.

anyway. i need someone who gets it the first time.
