you’re angel # to visit

fomo of not going out on saturday

because all day you’re fine and cozy and telling yourself staying in is self care. and then 10 pm hits and suddenly your brain is like what if everyone is having the best night of their life without you. and you’re on your couch in sweats watching stories refresh in real time. and it’s not even that you wanted to go out that badly. it’s the idea of being left out. the fear that everyone else is laughing louder. meeting someone hotter. living a life that’s moving forward while yours feels paused. and social media makes it worse. because one blurry video. one group photo with flash. one caption that says random saturday. and suddenly you’re spiraling. even though half the people out are miserable. someone’s feet hurt. someone spent too much money. someone’s talking to someone they don’t even like. and someone secretly wishes they stayed in. but you never see that part. you just see the highlight. the proof of presence. and saturday makes it worse. because it feels loaded. like if you don’t go out you wasted it. like you’re supposed to be young and fun and doing something worth remembering. even though most saturdays are not iconic. they’re just loud and expensive and end with cold pizza and a headache.
i’ve noticed the fomo usually hits when i’m bored with myself. not when i actually want to be there. because when i’m content. i don’t check stories. i don’t care. so maybe the real flex is knowing you could’ve gone out and choosing not to. not because you’re lame or tired. but because you don’t need every night to prove something. even if you miss one moment. you also miss a lot of nothing.
