There's a trick to the ethics of dating a man who is hot… but also, unfortunately, evil. There’s a crazy psychological pull when a man looks like he should be leaning against a convertible on a magazine cover. Your brain literally tries to convince you he’s a good person because he’s pretty. Beauty privilege is real. But ethically? That’s like adopting a wolf because it has cute ears. It’s not going to stop it from biting. There is no Nobel Prize for rehabilitating a man. You do not get course credit. Your GPA does not go up. If he’s evil, that’s a him problem, not a you problem. If he’s just a little chaotic, like bad texting etiquette or an inflated ego, fine. But if he’s actually harmful, then you have to ask yourself: Do you want to be complicit in your own destruction? A gorgeous man can still ruin your life in high definition. Ethics isn’t about protecting him. It’s about respecting you. You have a responsibility to your future self, your sanity, and your group chat, which will absolutely be judging you. It’s morally questionable to knowingly date someone who damages your confidence and peace just because his face looks like a screensaver. If he’s evil to other women? Nope. Hard stop. A hot villain is still a villain. But if you do it anyway (which, let’s be real, you might), at least go in knowing it’s not a love story. And you deserve a man who is both cute and kind. The combo exists. Don’t settle when you can have the whole package. You want someone who can care for you more than his mediocre hair.
